In August this year I managed to catch a day's worth of music at the San Jose Jazz Festival in downtown San Jose. During the first set - the magnificent Cuban pianist, Gonzalo Rubalcaba - I realized that I had made a big mistake by not bringing my camera along. As soon as the set was over I drove home to get my camera gear. I shot the last 2 sets, Roy Hargrove and his Quintet, and Kevin Mahoghany and Larry Coryell. I managed to get pretty close up to the stage and shoot. Between the music and the photography, it was an incredible experience, and I got to combine two of my passions in life in one afternoon!
